As a congregation of The United Methodist Church, our larger mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Our focus is less on getting people into heaven, as on transforming the world -- bringing more of heaven into our everyday lives and our world through our relationships with God, with Jesus, and with each other.

We our living into a new vision for the ministry of our particular congregation here in Clawson. We want to create an environment where we can all be fully who we are, and who God has created us to be.

We don't first ask if you believe the right things, or fit into a particular idea of what it means to be a Christian. We first open our hearts in love, and invite you to join us on a journey of opening hearts, and minds, and doors. We assume you bring gifts and skills and questions that will enrich the diversity of our community and our ministry, and help all of us to become more compassionate and go deeper in our faith.

Jesus first loved us -- especially reaching out to those who were looked down upon. He broke the rules for the sake of love, and lifted up children, the sick, women, people of other races, and anyone who was looked down upon, because of their job, or their education, or their income level, or what part of town they came from, or their lifestyle, or their social status.

Come see what we are doing to open hearts to new possibilities, to love, to listen to people who are hurting. Come explore new ideas that open our minds to people of other cultures, to ways of creating a more just, peaceful, and sustainable world, to new ideas of how to be a faithful Christian in today's world. Come help us open doors of opportunity, and reach across barriers to love more fully and be peacemakers in a variety of ways.

We don't know exactly what our church will look like a few years from now, but we trust that God is with us, guiding us, and leading us on an adventure of faith together.
